ah yeah we've got some good tracks nearby, last year I would have said our bike club was one of the best in the country with really good socials and biweekly organised rides out to the tracks together and plenty of roadtrips but things quickly change with change of people in charge and the people that made it amazing the years before finished uni and passed onto badly organised people that aren't much into Dh/freeride and prefer bmxing. We've got Cann woods and Tavy woods both which are pretty good, Cann is the one that is within riding distance, Tavy is a short train or car journey. If you want a good idea of uni's with good bike clubs check out the descent-world forum and see the student champs results, those that entered a lot into the dh event are likely to be good. I know bristol has an awesome club and swansea and cardiff not far behind - all have the dragons tracks and fod as their locals. hope that helps :-)
